The Management

Michael T. Kirk

Michael Kirk is the CEO and founder of RMK Capital. He has worked in finance for more than 14 years, the last 12 of which has been focused in maritime finance. Michael is also a co-founder and Managing Director of RMK Maritime, LLP (rmkmaritime.com) a London and New York based firm that specializes in maritime debt, sale & leaseback of maritime assets and providing industry analysis.

Prior to founding RMK, Michael founded MTK Capital, a US-based maritime advisory boutique that was active in helping match institutional investors with maritime opportunities.

Within the maritime finance sector, Michael has worked at Dahlman Rose & Co. as a Vice President and DVB Bank AG as an Associate Vice President in the London office. Michael began his career at HSBC in London in the Energy & Utilities Investment Banking Group. Michael graduated from Columbia University with a concentration in Economics.


Mike Jones

Mike Jones is a Managing Director at RMK Capital. He has more than 10 years experience as an investment banker, strategy consultant, equity/credit research analyst, and thought-leader, with a focus on upstream and midstream oil & gas.

Before joining RMK, Mike worked at Numeric Solutions as a Principal and Stifel Investment Banking focusing on private placements and M & A.

Prior to banking, Mike was a Director and publishing research analyst at Capstone in Washington DC, where he was working on regulatory and policy investments in the energy sector. Mike has also previously worked at Imperial Capital as a VP and lead analyst for the energy distressed/credit platform, at Hapoalim as an Industrial & Energy equity analyst, and at FBR as an Infrastructure, Equity, and Commodity Senior Associate. Mike graduated from the University of Virginia in the Echols Scholar Program with a dual degree in Economics and Government and he received his Master’s degree in International Economics, Trade, and Business from American University's School of International Service.

The Team

Georgios Keros

Georgios Keros recently joined as an analyst at RMK Capital. He has worked in the shipping industry as an analyst for nearly two years focusing on market fundamentals in the Dry Bulk, Tankers and Container sectors.

Prior to joining RMK Capital, Georgios worked for Navios Maritime Group in the New York office as well as an established private shipping group based in Athens, Greece. Georgios also worked in Athens, Greece for Axia Ventures Group, an investment bank headquartered in Cyprus and with a focus on Southern Europe.

Georgios holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business - University of Michigan.


Emily Motyka

Emily Motyka serves as a financial analyst in the maritime sector. At RMK Capital, Emily also assists in compliance procedures and provides support across various administrative and business functions.

Prior to working at RMK Capital and entering the maritime industry, Emily interned at the Laura Dail Literary Agency and Langton's International Agency. Emily graduated from Hunter College with a B.A. in English Literature and holds an AAS degree in Fine Arts from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Emily is also an active member of the Young Shipping Professionals of New York (YSPNY) and the Women's International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA).
